Overleg:Elzassisch

Welke codes zouden we gebruiken? Er is een Elzassische Wikipedia (dus het kan toch als een aparte taal worden beschouwd), maar het staat (nog) niet op de nieuwste lijst. Hetzelfde probleem heb ik met het Eurish en het Angaur (al bestaan daar geen wiki's van). Met dat verschil dat we hier geen code moeten verzinnen, immers het prefix van de wikipedia (en wiktionary, als die bestaat?) is "als". Gebruiken??? S.V.E.T. 14 nov 2004 11:38 (UTC)

Verhouding Elzassisch : Frans

As a german linguist, I wouldn't regard Alsatian as a »kruising tussen het Frans en het Duits«, but rather as one between standard (south-western) German and swiss German, being under heavy influence of standard French in the centuries following the French Revolution. Nowadays (so I have read) all inhabitants of Alsace speak French, but only a small percentage speak Alsatian, maybe even fewer than standard German, which is taught at higher schools as third language.
The wiki-code »als« was designed to refer to Alsatian in the first place, but now stands for »Alemannisch«, that is the whole Alemannic dialect group, including Alsatian, south-western German dialects and colloquial swiss German.
